Required documents when applying for the S Pass.

With the application, the employers are required to submit the following documents are as follows:

  • Duly filed S pass application form.

S Pass Application

Your employer will be the one who is complete responsibility for applying for the S Pass. However, they can get this done through EP online, the application tool you can find on the website portal of MOM.

The application process of S pass is as follows:

The duration to process the application is about three weeks. After getting an IPA letter, you need to visit Singapore within 60 days.

Getting the S Pass issued

After that, when the time comes to issue the S pass, then again, your employer must request the S pass. The Ministry of Manpower issues this pass. However, you will be arrived in Singapore, which means you will be with your employer while requesting the S pass issue.

The process of the issuing is as follows:

  • The employer has to requests the issue of the pass via EP online.
  • They will require submitting the documents as asked.
  • The pass fee that needs to be paid is S$100.

After the pass gets issued, the employer will see the notification letter. They will have to print a letter and give it to you. The notification letter:

  • You need to register your fingerprints and the photographs if you are looking to apply for the S pass for the first time or for five years when you registered for the pass.

Can you renew an S Pass?

Yes, you can renew your S pass. The initial validity of the S pass is two years, and you can renew it for another three years.

Your employment agency or the employer is also completely responsible for the S pass renewal. They will have to apply for the renewal of the S pass online. The time to apply for the renewal request must be six months prior to the current S pass expires.

Even for the renewal, you have to pay the same fees as you paid earlier.

Cancellation of the pass

An employer can cancel the pass after the pass expires or if the pass holder is no longer working with the company. The cancellation can be performed either by the employer or by an employment agency via EP online. After the cancellation request s received, the MOM will immediately cancel the pass.

After that, the employer will need to submit the original S pass to the MOM center within seven workings days after the date of cancellation. If any dependent pass is also dependent on the S pass, then the DP pass will also get cancelled.

The work permit holder or foreign domestic workers can also upgrade their  Work permit to S pass by following some eligibility criteria provided by MOM.
